Dear Friends of the Center:
In my role as board chair, I make a point to stop in at the Center a few times every week. This allows me to get a better feel for what’s going on and to meet some of our members. On a recent visit I saw several groups engaged in various activities, spoke with some of the volunteers who were busy planning for upcoming holiday events and checked in with the contractors who were completing the finishing touches to our new deck off the living area. It was exhilarating to see all this activity on a single visit and reinforced in me what a vibrant role the Center plays in our community. It empowers our members to explore and expand their passions, make new friends and support the community through their volunteer efforts.
2023 has been a year of growth and change at the Center. We hosted over 50 new programs in addition to our standard fare, saw our membership increase by 30% and made significant progress towards realizing our dream of adding a new wing to the Center. The pride, dedication and teamwork of everyone have all contributed to our successes at the Center and I am grateful to our members, staff, sponsors, board and volunteers for all their hard work and dedication to our cause. In addition to everyone’s hard work, the Center also depends on your financial assistance and today I am asking that you give thoughtful consideration to supporting this year’s Annual Appeal.
Our Annual Appeal accounts for a sizable piece of the revenues required to operate the Center. Whether you are an active participant at the Center or just an occasional visitor, your support is vital to our mission. Gifts of any size and the collective support of many will allow us to continue providing the quality programming and social engagement opportunities that define the Center.
